Why Medium Should Monetize External Views
medium pays us for internal traffic.
New Medium changes, now pay you only for the views that come directly from the Medium App or Website.
If you’re getting views from Social Media links, then Medium is not going to pay you!
It means they (the god of the platform) are not going to pay you unless the reader reads your story for 30 seconds.
If you’re a poet or short storyteller on Medium then you’re going to make peanuts, because 30 seconds of read time to make money is like poison for you!
I have experienced it!
I’m not building towers in the air! I wrote some Poetry pieces, and they got claps, comments, and highlights… but no readers!
